An unwelcome guest, a brush with high society, and the small complications of living with other people. Tove Jansson’s Moomin comic strips find plenty to amuse in everyday life, following her easygoing, adventurous creatures through encounters with movie stars, modern art, and visitors who stay a little too long. Her crisp black-and-white drawings give equal attention to a field of flowers, a rocky beach, and a telling expression. Gentle, droll, and occasionally sharp, these are comics with plenty for grown-ups to enjoy, too.
