Father Christmas comes in from the woods dressed in deep evergreen. Designed by Ashley Ashe, a Waldorf teacher and felt artist from upstate New York, this handmade Santa Waldorf doll wears a rich green velvet robe trimmed down the front with a woven floral ribbon in blue, pink, and moss green, which opens onto a snowy white felt panel. His pointed white felt cap is banded with the same ribbon and tucked with a sprig of green leaves, a fluffy cream wool beard frames his delicate, hand-drawn face, and he carries a little frosted bottle-brush tree. Because each doll is made entirely by hand, a little fraying along the trim and seams is natural and part of his character. He makes a lovely companion for the seasonal table, for Advent storytelling, or for gentle play with children ages 6 and up.
